Poonam, Indian national is Executive Director of the YES Campaign. The YES Campaign is working in over 70 countries to assemble the infrastructure, resources and the will to provide an enabling environment for young people. Poonam has been honored by the California Legislature and the Indian-American Trade and Commerce Council for work as "an outstanding youth community leader." Before founding YES as an initiative of Boston-based Education Development Center (EDC), Poonam participated extensively in the women’s movement in India and in the U.S. She is also an active supporter of eradicating global hunger through the work of The Hunger Project.
