Nicolas Gatambi is Rwandese and 26 years old. He studied journalism at National University of Rwanda, and has been awarded the grand prix in a radio journalism competition with BBC Afrique, the BBC's French for Africa service. He is a correspondent in Rwanda for Radio France International program called "Couleurs Tropicales", and works as freelance for Radio Canada International.
Since last year, Gatambi has been a journalist and coordinator of the Search for Common Ground radio program "Great Lakes Generation', and travels every week through the three countries to oversee the preparation and production of this weekly program.
Gatambi is committed to working for peace in this Great Lakes region of Africa, and believes that it has to start with the youth. "I believe we can do it. And media is the way to do it. I want to learn from other youth and come back and continue building a solid and sure peace in this region of mine".
