Ismail Serageldin, is the Director of the new Library of Alexandria, chairs the BoD of the BA’s seven affiliated research institutes and three museums. He’s Distinguished Professor, Wageningen University, Netherlands. He serves as Chair and Member of a number of advisory committees for academic, scientific and international institutions and civil society efforts. Memberships include the Institut d’Egypte, TWAS, Indian National Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the European Academy of Sciences and Arts. He’s Founder and former Chairman, Consultative Group to Assist the Poorest, Global Water Partnership and former Chairman, Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research. Serageldin was Vice-President of the World Bank (1993-2000).
