Dr. Kerdany is currently the Spokesman and Regional Adviser for Media and Communication in the World Health Organization. He is an Egyptian with a varied background in both health and media.

With a doctorate in mental health from Alexandria university and a Masters degree in public health from San Diego state university, he has worked with WHO and UNICEF in immunization, HIV/AIDS, polio eradication, adolescent and youth health, maternal and child health. He is also a well-known media personality in Egypt, appealing mainly to young people through his many TV programmes. He has hosted foreign students in Egypt through INTERALP and has been hosted as a foreign student in the United States through AFS.
